Maiko II

Maiko is the term used for a trainee Geisha, a traditional Japanese artist and entertainer. With a fascinating heritage spanning several centuries, every aspect of a Geisha and Maiko’s professional appearance and behaviour has meaning. In this drawing I have tried to capture the lyrical grace and skilful precision of a Maiko in formal attire.
